Wilkington Design has been working at an amazing pace for the past four months! Our clients have been busy launching new initiatives, starting performance seasons, and publishing new educational workbooks. One project that Wilkington Design is especially excited about is the launch of a new foundation that will raise money through a partnership with an ETF fund. The GlobalEcho Foundation will focus on sustainable investing to provide funding for several initiatives that support environmental causes and community building around the world. Wilkington Design was asked to create a logo for this new foundation.

Wilkington Design is putting it’s expertise in performing arts to good use with a new client, the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra. One of the best regional orchestra’s in the country, the FSO has stepped up it’s look for it’s 2011-2012 season to match it’s world-class status. Subscriptions are now available.
One interesting feature in this brochure was the use of a tag to point mobile users to a subscription page. This is the first time I’ve been asked to produce a piece with a tag and I am a convert. It’s a great way to merge the print and online marketing with mobile technology.

For the past six months, Wilkington Design has been working with this fantastic local arts organization to create a new brand that reflects the inclusive nature of the organization and develop a new dynamic website to replace a static one that required specialized knowledge to maintain. Wilkington Design developed a customized WordPress site to give them an easy to use, highly functional CMS, a new calendar feature to highlight their events, and a virtual gallery to showcase the work of their members. Last week, Virginia celebrated Farm-to-School week at its public schools but our client, Maple Avenue Market, has been bringing locally grown produce to Arlington County schools all year long. Wilkington Design began working with this new business based in Vienna, VA to develop their logo and website. We are looking forward to continuing to work with them as they set up a nonprofit arm of their business to support and expand their efforts to bring healthy local foods to public schools.

Through the Business Volunteers for the Arts program run by the Cultural Alliance of DC, Wilkington Design has completed a Communications Assessment for The Writer’s Center. Located in Bethesda, The Writer’s Center is nationally recognized for supporting the education and development of writers of all skill levels. While well know nationally, The Writer’s Center seeks to raise it’s profile through a new brand. Wilkington Design completed an analysis of the current branding assets and communications of The Writer’s Center as well as a review of peer organizations to develop a blueprint for their future communications efforts and a plan for developing a more sophisticated brand. We can’t wait to see their new brand unveiled as they get ready to launch a new website.
